My first Thanksgiving with Grammy, Papa, Grandpa, Mommy, and Daddy.





I learned to put my toys in my mouth.


I learned to put my hands together!

I learned to put my blankie in my mouth!
I stayed in the Church nursery for the first time!



I went to my first restaurant.


And... I went to my first basketball game and watched Daddy ref!

We have so much to be thankful for. For our health, for the healthy pregnancy, birth, and first three months with Alexa, for our puppies, for our families and friends who have shown us more love than we probably deserve throughout our lives, but especially in the past few months. Mostly, we are thankful for what our Father did for us to grant us eternal life.

12 weeks old

My precious angel is 12 weeks old today! Where has the time gone?! She is officially in her 3-6 month clothes. I packed away all her 0-3 month clothes, and it made me kind of sad! People say the time goes fast but holy cow!



In her three months, Alexa has mastered:
-smiling
-laughing
-rolling to her side
-sucking her hand
-cooing and babbling

She is currently working on:
-holding her head up when held sitting up (she does pretty well when carried, but we're working on it in our bumbo chair which is very different!)


-rolling over (she just needs one more little kick!)
-lifting our head up when on our tummy (she gets better every day!)




Alexa just keeps on growing and learning and surprising us every day! I can NOT believe it's been 3 months already! Every day is such a blessing with this little angel!

As I was putting Alexa to sleep last night, thinking about going back to work today, we were listening to a CD called Praise Baby that Grammy bought us. A song came on that--along with the support and encouragement of many others--reminded me to stay focused on the positive and the blessings that are in my life.

So... I am blessed to have a great job, I am blessed to be able to arrive home at 4, I am blessed to have Christmas vacation,
Spring break, Summers, and other various holidays off, and most of all, I am BLESSED to have a beautiful, healthy, daughter
to come home to every day!  :)

a good little learner

Ever since we bought Alexa a playgym, we have been working with her on grabbing toys. We would touch her hand on the toy, then open it and place it on the toy so she could grab it. The past few days, she has been reaching out to touch us (with her hands and her feet--silly girl!). Today she was reaching out for her toys, and while we were eating dinner, I caught her doing this! If you can't see it too well (I apologize for the bad angle), she is grabbing her toy!


What a good little student! Makes a Mommy/teacher very happy!

2 month stats

Alexa had her 2 month check-up yesterday and the doctor says she looks perfect! She weighs 12 pounds 1 ounce (69%) and is 24 1/2 inches long (96%). She is long and skinny!


She got her shots yesterday (see her band-aids?). She screamed at first, but luckily they have this process well thought out and they give the oral vaccination after the shots. It tastes like syrup, so Alexa was trying to drink it faster than the nurse could squeeze the tube! Alexa was a little cranky last night, so I was worried about how our night would be. She surprised me by sleeping really well, so overall I think she did great! She was a trooper! She is getting so big and never ceases to amaze us. We love our little girl so much!

My New Toy

Mommy and Daddy bought me a playgym the other day. It has music, toys, and a mirror that I love. Here is a picture my Aunt Crystal took of me playing.

Finally Feels Like Fall!

It finally feels like Fall this morning! We took a long walk with the dogs and had a great time. The dogs LOVE the cool weather. Alexa wore this adorable onesie and tracksuit from Aunt Melissa. She was warm and stylish!



This totally reminded me of a book Grammy gave Alexa, It's Too Windy.



Even the part where it says, "I hate waiting." Daddy was talking to a neighbor and Charlie was not having it! Hope you're enjoying some Fall weather! Even if it's only before the sun comes up!

Happy Halloween!

Alexa had a great first Halloween! Our neighborhood went all out with decorations! I've never seen anything like it! Everyone had tables set out, there were haunted houses and graveyards, it was intense! Alexa had fun riding in the stroller.




This is what she was supposed to wear. It was too hot, though. Her Papa's friend, Ms. Wall got her this.


She really liked it because it had a hat that tied under her chin. She was trying to lick it with her tongue. She thought it was really fun! She is too cute!

But, she had to wear this so she wasn't too hot!



Luckily her Mom likes to keep frilly outfits around so finding a costume wasn't a problem. Alexa's ballerina socks and pumpkin oensie in the first picture are from Aunt Jacki. Thanks Aunt Jacki :).

Boo!

Just a brief Halloween post. Alexa was a ballerina for Halloween. She was supposed to be a Pea Pod, but it was too hot for that outfit, so we had to improvise. Here is a quick shot of her Trick-or-Treating.
